With the celebration of Pentecost, the season of Easter is ended. This Sunday we go back to Ordinary Time with two big feasts, Holy Trinity and Corpus Christi. Both feasts bring into our celebrations of Ordinary Time some aspects of the Easter celebrations we have just concluded. The feast of the Holy Trinity reminds us that the work of our salvation is first of all the work of the Triune God. It was the Father who sent the Son to us for our redemption; and both Father and Son sent us the Spirit to continue our sanctification while we continue on our pilgrimage. The feast of Corpus Christi reminds us of the enduring presence of the Lord in our midst under the species of bread and wine. With the Real Presence, the Lord fulfills the promise he gave to the apostles: “I will be with you always until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).”
In view of these feasts, I have published the podcasts for the Gospel selections assigned for those days. For the feast of the Holy Trinity, John 3:16-18 is used; for Corpus Christi, it is John 6:51-58. The podcasts are both in Filipino and last about 10 minutes. You may listen to these podcasts from the MP3 players provided below.
As I already mentioned, I started podcasting last December 2010 with the intention of helping our cell leaders in preparing for their meetings on the Sunday Gospel. As of June 12, 2011 I have posted quite a number of these podcasts which you can visit at http://biblista.podbean.com. I am currently working on the podcast for the 14th Sunday of Ordinary Time. Perhaps I will be posting it within this week. Links to the podcasts are also published at the Bible Workshop.
